AT 2015
Based on the documentation of a dance performance in public space, in which a dancer equipped with induction headphones moves according to the electrical fields in her immediate vicinity, while simultaneously affecting her acoustic surroundings through her movements. The video is concerned with the generation of rhythm and tempo in sound and moving images through cutting. Pictures and sounds are integrated rhythmically and interdependently, resulting in a constructive rendition of the dance that stands in opposition to the performative act before the camera. Shown as part of “transducing the city, elektromagnetische topografien” (October 2015) at the Exhibition Centre of the University of Applied Arts Vienna, Heiligenkreuzer Hof, Sala Terrena — Kunst der Gegenwart.
