Noiserail

eine Schnittetüde

Video art

is based on the documentary of a dance performance in public space, during which a dancer equipped with induction headphones moves according to the electrical fields in her immediate vicinity, while simultaneously affecting her acoustic surroundings through her movements. The video is concerned with the generation of rhythm and tempo in sound and moving images through cutting. The pictures and sounds are integrated rhythmically and interdependently in a specific manner. This results in a constructive rendition of the dance that stands in opposition to the performative act before the camera.

Dancer: Gioia Osthoff

In cooperation with Magdalena Salner

Headphones were supplied by Christina Kubisch

‘Noiserail’ was a contribution for the exhibition ‘transducing the city, elektromagnetische topografien’ (October 2015) at Ausstellungszentrum der Universität für angewandte Kunst Wien
